Top 3 summer activities in Risør

Risør is a pleasant seaside town located along the Skagerrak coast. Spending a summer holiday here is worth it! With its beautiful white-painted wooden houses, Risør is considered one of the best-preserved timber structure towns in Europe. Ole Marius Sandnes from Sørlandet Feriesenter offers 3 tips for things to do if you decide to spend your summer holiday in Risør.

1. Havgløtt Bad (lido) at the Sørlandet Feriesenter campsite

Welcome to the Havgløtt Bad family-friendly outdoor pool area in Risør, with beautiful views of Sandnes fjord and the Skagerrak. Havgløtt Bad has two large swimming pools and a paddling pool for kids. The area is perfect for sunbathing and relaxing and it is always nice to take a dip in heated swimming pools!

2. The pot-holes at Sild, a 25-minute drive from Risør

Pot-holes are natural swimming pools! The pot-hole pools at Sild are fed by seawater and are always several degrees warmer than the sea. The pot-holes at Sild are popular among locals and tourists alike. If you have a fishing rod with you, Sild is also a good spot for fishing.

3. Boat trip to Risør

A boat trip to Risør with its beautiful white-painted wooden houses is highly recommended. Risør has a guest harbour where you can moor your boat, walk to the centre, enjoy an ice cream and experience the atmosphere of a real Sørland town!

Sandnes fjord is great for fishing for cod, saithe, mackerel and sea trout and boats are available for hire at Sørlandet Feriesenter.
